Hepatic is a complete dietary food designed for canine nutritional therapy, developed to maintain liver function in animals with chronic liver insufficiency and to reduce the amount of copper in the liver. It contains a moderate amount of high-quality protein, a lot of essential fatty acids, and very easily digestible carbohydrates. Low in copper.
Benefits
Plant proteins. Plant proteins with a high digestibility level (soy protein isolate) are better digested by dogs with liver encephalopathy. Low copper content. A low copper content with reduced zinc levels decreases both copper assimilation in hepatocytes and intracellular damage caused by cholestasis. Antioxidant complex. A synergistic antioxidant complex reduces hepatocyte degradation. High energy value. The high amount of energy provided by fats helps avoid excessive protein catabolism, limiting the risk of progression of liver encephalopathy.
