STOMAFERIN - A special agent for local use in the oral cavity for adult dogs and cats. Ingredients: water, glycerin, lactoferrin, chlorhexidine gluconate, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate. Usage: apply directly to the oral mucosa of adult dogs and cats that tend to form dental plaque and tartar. Thanks to the specially developed active ingredient complex, Stomaferin protects against bacterial adhesion to the tooth surface, thereby preventing bacterial proliferation and colonization, as well as unpleasant mouth odor. It promotes the maintenance of normal oral microbiota and reduces tartar formation after mechanical cleaning. It protects and promotes the regeneration of the oral mucosa, especially after dental treatment. IMPORTANT - it is not recommended to use Stomaferin on oral mucosal wounds or injuries in animals sensitive to chlorhexidine. Properties: Lactoferrin is a multipotential protein found in the milk of many mammalian species (especially in colostrum - the first portion of mother's milk) and in many internal organs, as well as in mucous membranes. It is a physiologically very important element that supports the immune system's response to harmful microorganisms (Berlutti et al. 2011). Due to the inclusion of lactoferrin in the product, Stomaferin stimulates the local immune response in the oral cavity. Chlorhexidine is a substance often used in dentistry. Its ability to adhere to the oral mucosa is very important as it helps protect against the formation of dental plaque. Thus, it prevents bacterial growth and colonization on the enamel surface, inhibiting plaque formation (by 50-60%), which results in a reduction of bacteria by up to 95% (Eden, 2008). The advantage of chlorhexidine is its very good safety profile (Lachenmeier 2017). Instructions for use: apply the preparation to the oral mucosa in the area of the angle of the lower jaw (in cats) or on its outer or inner surface about 1-2 cm from the mucosa. Shake before use. Do not apply to mucosal wounds or injuries. One pump press delivers 0.2 ml of the preparation. Use 2-4 times a day. Do not apply more than one dose, obtained from a single pump press, in one place.
