• SPECIFIC™ FDD-HY Food Allergy Management – it is a balanced complete hypoallergenic food that contains a limited amount of various different components (primarily rice and hydrolyzed salmon). The food meets the needs of kittens and adult cats with food allergies.
• To prevent the symptoms of food allergies, it is extremely important that the cat eats nothing other than this hypoallergenic food.
• To diagnose harmful side effects caused by food, the elimination method is considered the "gold standard," where the animal eats home-cooked food and then is given a potentially provoking product. When feeding with home-cooked food is not possible, such tests can be conducted with SPECIFIC™ FDD-HY Food Allergy Management food.
• SPECIFIC™ FDD-HY Food Allergy Management differs from other foods with good quality, contains easily assimilable components, and has an increased electrolyte content. Therefore, the food will be particularly suitable for patients with gastrointestinal problems related to acute intestinal disorders, maldigestion, and/or pancreatic exocrine insufficiency.
• For cats with gastrointestinal problems, it is recommended to divide the daily amount of SPECIFIC™ FDD-HY Food Allergy food into 3-5 feeding times.
• Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency is characterized by a significant decrease in pancreatic digestive enzyme levels. SPECIFIC™ FDD-HY Food Allergy Management is easily absorbed by the body and is therefore an ideal choice for patients suffering from pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. However, therapy with pancreatic enzyme preparations is also recommended.
• Psyllium (plantago ovata seeds) – these are soluble fibers that also have gelling properties, absorbing liquid in volumes many times their weight. Psyllium is known for its positive effect on the regulation of gastrointestinal function.
