The food has a reduced magnesium and phosphorus content (components of struvite) to dissolve struvites in the bladder and prevent their reformation.
Urine pH below 6.4 dissolves struvite crystals and prevents their reformation.

EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that have a beneficial effect on joint, skin, and coat condition.

• The increased sodium content encourages the dog to drink more. This reduces the concentration of minerals in the urine and increases urination frequency.
• It is recommended to divide the daily norm of SPECIFIC™ CCD Struvite Management into 3-4 feeding times, which reduces the postprandial (after meal) increase in urine pH.
• Struvite urolithiasis is most often associated with urinary tract infections. In the case of such infections, SPECIFIC™ CCD Struvite Management will be effective only if the infection itself is treated simultaneously.
• Struvite urolithiasis is just one of the various types of urolithiasis found in dogs. It is extremely important to determine the type of stones in the bladder, as each type may require a different feeding strategy (see the urolithiasis control chart in the "SPECIFIC™ food technical information" section).
